BWA 1500 is a custom-built precision rotary welding machine designed for light components and rod materials. Its accurately manufactured structure and factory-set parallelism of less than 0.2 mm enable reliable welding of small and precise parts.
The high-quality drive ensures smooth movement and constant rotational speed. The RCS06 control system supports full automation of the welding process and includes a controlled output for switching the welding arc.
Due to the complexity of the machine, it is supplied only as a bespoke solution. The final technical configuration and feasibility are determined after detailed consultation based on the product parameters, specific application and customer production program.
The machine has a maximum turning diameter of 150 mm, a static load capacity of up to 15 kg and a maximum product length of 1500 mm. It is optimized for detailed welding of lightweight, small-diameter components and can operate with up to two welding torches.
The fully enclosed design separates the operator from the welding process and should be anchored at the workplace. The central beam carries the main spindle with its drive and clamping system. An optional tailstock moves along precision linear guides. The structure also supports the welding arm and a pneumatic steady-rest clamping unit.
The tailstock can be equipped with its own synchronized drive. In this configuration, both spindle drives operate without backlash and consist of stepper motors, precision planetary gearboxes and toothed-belt transmissions.
The main spindle and tailstock use standardized flanges with a 28 mm through-hole and can be fitted with 125 mm universal chucks. A fully automatic pneumatic clamping system with custom-designed jaws can also be supplied for unattended operation.
Tailstock pressure can be adjusted mechanically using a drawbar, nut and control lever, or automatically through a push-button-controlled pneumatic system.
The central beam can be manually tilted from 0° to 55°. A gearbox ensures smooth movement and allows the operator to set any required welding position.
The machine is equipped with an automatically controlled protective roller blind and safety limit switches defining its end and safe positions. A three-color signal light indicates the current operating status, and the machine can also be switched to service mode.
A powerful extraction system removes welding fumes from the enclosed workspace. The machine housing includes mounting consoles for welding power sources, pressure-reducing valves for shielding gas and compressed air, and float-type gas flow meters.
A two-hand control unit with an integrated emergency-stop button is supplied for starting the working cycle.
The pneumatically operated welding arm carries a precision holder for up to two torches. It provides backlash-free vertical adjustment within ±15 mm and allows the torches to be tilted.
The optional digital Mighty Controller remote control simplifies operation and increases machine flexibility.
The RCS06 control system provides advanced rotary-welding functions, including:
